At the time of Jesus, on normal Jewish kid at one point when they were about six years old, in order to learn the Bible they didn't just go to Sunday school. That was a different kind of school called Bette-Safare. And for the next four years or so, you would learn those first five books of Moses - Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
