Young's black books are his private journals. They're like an invitation into his space, i psychic space. And it began from these slim volumes that he kept from the time he was 13 on. Seven of them are published in the sat put out by the siliman foundation. It's a huge turning point where he began to think of the second half of life as the era where you prepare to die and for the sake of a good det.
