The Fed's Control of the System
The Fed has been able to push against that secular trend with cyclical money supply. That system is a two dimensional system with one party in control. The problem is now the Fed has to battle against inflation and there are two mandates. One of them is price stability. Now those two different mandates are in conflict, which creates a much bigger problem.
