In a prior company, I worked at a company that made an analytics product. And it turned out to be tremendously complicated to create a realistic fake data set even on three tables. Even if you're trying to mimic an e-commerce company, the number of relationships in the data just in an orders table is huge. If there's no seasonality there, then you're just going to be like, God, this is stupid, this is not real.
