The Native Writing System of Cherokee
Cherokee is one of the very few languages of, you know, of North America that actually has its own native script. It was invented by a Cherokee by the name of Sequoia. And when did he develop this? I'm wanting to say... I think on the Wikipedia it says time period 1770-ish. That could be like a sound change in progress or something. Yep.
