The Battle for a Progressive and Equal Bulgaria
In the early 1980s there was even a push to change all of Muslim names to replace them with Christian names and Bulgarian ethnic names this was extraordinary violence. The battle for building a genuinely progressive and equal society was fought over the bodies especially of minority women that violence should not be forgotten. This is what I also mean by socialist racialism and the ways in which socialism produces violence. And so specifically for minority women Muslim women and Roma women many of them who were Muslim as well used to live mostly in their rural areas.
