ROCKING OUR PRIORS
How Rituals Can Foster Social Cooperation

So I think that really seems to hold up that this sense of religious bonding can improve people's welfare. Then the second point I wanted to give is a similar example of how rituals can foster social cooperation. For example, US fraternities in colleges are much more likely to perpetuate rape myths and deny accusations against members of their fraternity. They're trusting each other as a group and they're saying, hey, this guy is part of my group, we've bonded together so I'm going to back him up.
