There is a sense of malaise within big bang cosmology because none of these things like dark matter have been discovered. galaxies in the early universe that are far more matured than they ought to be, enormous mega structures which simply should not exist according to the established theory. All of these things are beginning to weigh upon cosmology, they're weighing upon it, there is a questioning within it. And there are worse theories still. The idea of brains and M theory, the idea that you have basically universes budding off of other universes,. rather than having one act of creation, we now introduce many, many acts of creation.
