A Tribute to Tiberius

An Asian king bequeathed his kingdom and its revenues to the Roman Senate. Tiberius suggested that some of it be given to those farmers who had been allotted land parcels under a new law. The nobility resented having to give some of their gift to the commoners. They called it extortion. At the tribal assembly vote for reelection, a private army descended with landlord Publius Naseka at their command. His mercenaries killed 300 of Tiberius' supporters and hacked Tiberius himself to death.
