The Arthur Mithos of the Robin Hood Mythology
There is an overriding metaphysical realism, at least what we today would see as realism. Throughout the arthur mithos there is no magic, no sorcery, no bewitchment. There are no fantastical creatures or monsters. So unlike in other grand chivalric stories of outlaw rebels, he doesn't go fight a giant bear or a dragon and anything like that. In all these ways, the robin hood mythology is very different from the romances that might have inspired it.
