The Public Health Emergency of International Concern: MPOCs
The MPOCs public health emergency of international concern ended on May 11th, nearly 10 months after the emergency was declared. There have now been over 87,000 reported cases of MPOCs associated with the outbreak. The number of daily MPOCs cases peaked in the US in August at 460 per day and has declined significantly since then. A combination of waning immunity from either previous infection or vaccination and return to previous behaviors will fuel an increase in cases in the coming weeks or months.
