How Did You Discern Whether or Not to Pursue a Religious Vocation?

How did you discern whether or not you wanted to pursue the path of a religious vocation as opposed to a diocesan priestly vocation? Did that take some time? For me, I didn't, I come from a very, um, rural diocese in South Australia. And so there was just a lot of older kind of men living on their own. But recognizing attractive qualities is different than being attracted to something and figuring out if that's where your heart is being led.
