There's definitely some evidence that those people that purchased around the peak would be in a negative equity situation at the moment. So if you bought into a market like say the central coast or the northern beaches of Sydney, housing values in those areas fell by more than 15%. In some cases, to take a look at some market like Byron Bay or Nusa is a really good example where housing values rocketed about 50 to 60% higher through the upswing.
