I Don't Know How to Be Tsar
Just a week after his father's funeral, Nicholas II marries. His bride is the English-born Alex of Hess. She is a favourite grandchild of Queen Victoria. A hidden quirk of this ancestry will later come to play a part in her own downfall. The new Tsar doesn't officially take the crown until May of 1896. When the coronation does take place, it's beset with tragedy. 1,400 people crush to death when rumours spread about free food.
