The Myth of Open Source Governance

The great commons of modern times is software commons. It's so peculiar because, of course, people associate the cooperative ethic with open source software. Many of these founders who may have come out of that tradition somehow can't go the next step. The governance structures are generally not stated very explicitly and implicitly they're very, very rigid and hierarchical.
