Sovereign immunity principles that exist in international law are supposed to be reflected to some extent in domestic law. Departures from them can cause violations of customary international law and then consequences flowing from that. I don't think it's in the US interests or actually in kind of the global interests to see a wider opening of many aspects of the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, she says.
