Dostoyevsky was inspired to write the novel basically against the russian nihilist movement and its leaders. The myth of sisyphus is about rolling a boulder up a hill before it rolls down again, for eternity. And kamu argues that both this character and dostoevski could potentially be argued that they are absurdest artists.
