Is It Necessary to Add a Comment?

Comments that are redundant to what the code around it could have been, or could have said, are definitely an anti pattern. I don't mind when a comment says the why of the code. Code often expresses simply the how or the what. But if you can't get all of that just by your variable names or your class names and stuff, like comments giving you that extra context are okay.
