Is Methane 25 Times Worse on a Global Warming Potential?
Natural gas is many times, what, 70 or 80 times as effective as a greenhouse capture gas. If you flare it, you convert the methan to c o two, which has less short term impact but lasts for hundreds to thousands of years in the atmosphere. At least when you compare the the mass of methane versus the mass of co two, its combustion products, methane is considered 25 times worse.
