Modern Wisdom

CHAPTER

Is There a Difference Between Male and Female Brains?

There are systemic differences in the brain that differentiate male and female brains on average. There's a fair amount of overlap and variation, but we have different brains. We also have lifetime differences in exposure to testosterone and estrogen. The steroid hormones also have lasting impacts on brain organization starting extremely early on in fetal development.
