We look at that cabin in the woods as being this avatar of self-reliance, but it's not. The food you ate today was shipped to you from around the globe. If things went really bad, you know what we would do? We would work together to figure that out. That's kind of classic conservatism. You're banking, your insurance, your credit card, your phone network, your internet access and all these things make you top down dependent,. It's localism. Being able to live in a community with other people dependent on them, not dependent on things outside your place.
