The Origins of the Yamnaya Culture

Linguists have determined that there is a relationship between particular words in various Indo-European languages. This tells us that these words were relevant to the Proto-Indo-European language speakers. In this case may be the Yamnaya. So we shouldn't be surprised to find that linguists have suggested a Proto-indo-European word for horse, which is the parent word for all modern Indo-European words relating to horses. The fact that there are also terms for snow and freezing suggests that the area of origin would be familiar with snow. These lingual speculations can affirm what we have already suggested when studying the archaeological record. And they tell us much about the geography
