Why You Shouldn't Wash Your Teeth in a Public Fountain

Archaeologists have found more than 40 different wells in Pompeii alone. But please don't try and wash in a public fountain these days, because you're just getting trouble with a local council. You'd either have used a potty, which needed emptying daily, or your toilet would have been at a wooden seat over a hole. Because why have a toilet and a bin when you can combine both? Gross.
