The process is actually called, confusingly, cold fusion. It's a totally separate line of research that actually predates the crazy cold fusion. This is like actual cold fusion. And you know, it makes sense. It's fusion because they're merging together heavy nuclei to make something new and it's cold because they try not to do it too hard.
