The Eye Transmits Its Own Image Through the Air

The eye transmits its own image through the air to all the objects which are in front of it and receives them into itself. An instance of how the images of all things are spread through the air may be seen in a number of mirrors placed in a circle, and they will then reflect each other for an infinite number of times. So I hold that the invisible powers of the images in the eyes may project themselves forth to the object as do the images of the object to the eye. It is on its surface when the understanding takes them and considers them, and such as it finds pleasing, these it commits to memory.
