Orca Echolocation and Calls to Each Other
Echolocation is something you've probably heard of in whales, bats and other species. Dan describes it as how an orca gains information about each other from the echoes of the bounce back. They might even be able to tell if a family member has broken bones or is pregnant. It was one of my favorite recordings to listen to. I fall asleep to this. You can hear echolocation and then some sporadic calls from the AJ's. And again these are family calls that belong to that family. Sounds so mechanical. That's them hunting.
