Devon throws up in the garbage instead of using one of the special puke bags strategically placed at various points throughout the gim. No one steps in to help her or gives an apathetic glance. The whole treadmall episode is a kind of miniature version of how they want devon to be once she is back in the real world. They want her to be able to feel her feelings about the things that trouble her, then they want her just push on.
