Joseph Smith first introduces the idea of Charles Anton writing a certificate in 1838 after Martin Harris was ex communicated which just happens to mirror the certificate given to Joseph by Michael Chandler with the book of Abraham in 1835. This shows again Joseph Smith's determination just to get stuff sorted because he wasn't even bothering to try and get those who should have been his closest in the circle on board with these narrative changes.
