The Proxima Cause of the Geopolitics
The classical gold standard was a 19th century and early 20th century way of trading. It's true that this is going to be a geopolitical shift, but the underlying structural cause is still trade. If all countries are just trading with the US, they don't get as many opportunities to try other arrangements. The transition here in terms of currencies shouldn't be particularly chaotic. But it will be chaotic and messy in the sense that people won't have a clear view until it's been clarified almost until it's happened.
