I Don't Need the Illusion of Free Will, but Everyday Folks, They Need It

I want to take this opportunity to clarify as much as we can. You've sort of hinted at the idea that even though we sophisticated scientists and philosophers know that there are laws of physics, we should let people have their free will in some sense. That may or may not be true. For me personally, that fact has nothing to do with why I think it's sensible to talk about free will. My reason for talking about free will is just the answer you just gave, which is that it does play this role in helping you explain what goes on.
