In the end, I reported on 160 cases or people, children who had been sexually abused in the book. Some of these come from memoirs that the children has adults have written themselves. A few are based on diaries that were written very close to the time of the war during the war or immediately afters. There were very, very few child diaries available and only about 55 have ever been found.
