The Death of Caster Samenia
South African athlete Caster Samenia was born with differences of sexual development DSD. She is not allowed to compete in any track events without taking testosterone-reducing drugs. In 2021 she took the case to the European Court of Human Rights claiming that the rules were discriminatory. This week the court has vindicated her claims of discrimination but it looks unlikely that this ruling will change the rules established by world athletics.
