The Spirituality of Reason
Spirituality is usually conjoined to associated with and X2, matters that are more divine. You might assume that we would talk more about the spirituality of faith. But what I propose to you this evening is that reason, human knowledge, is intrinsically spiritual. It deepens us in, confirms us in, and reveals our spiritual. All the new atheists, all the materialists, Bertrand Russell, AJEir, Baruch Spinoza, Jean-Jacques Rousseau were profoundly spiritual men even if they rejected the articles in the faith and divine reveal in truth and religion.
