Cover Cropping and Wetland Conservation

Beetles were one of the dominant predatory forces, but mice and birds contributed quite a bit as well. Cover cropping in addition to the very many benefits that it has for other reasons, may support seed predators - which is nice. And similarly, wetland conservation might support seed predators, which is also nice. But I wouldn't recommend delaying fall disturbance if seed rain hasn't happened yet.
