Congress tasked nassa to really difine any objects that composed a threat to the earth. This eventually led to what's called the planet y defense coordination office. Can we find out where all the asteroids and comets are, and whether they're heading towards us? And if we do find one, can we actually do anything about it?

Scientists are constantly searching for asteroids that could crash into Earth. But if they find one, will they be able to do anything about it? NASA has launched a spaceship that will slam into an asteroid to find out.
