I'm really struck by your passage from doing Cooper I think I really see the connection to the millner and also to Winnicott if the water self if the watery self is an sort of an absolute alternative to a land self then that would not be particularly Winnicottian. The true self can't exist without its quote unquote opposite right the false self both is what it can fall into which is the way we usually think of the phony inauthentic self but it's also in a way that process of navigating boundaries includes me sometimes being quote unquote false in so far as I'm speaking the language of another. It might be my way of being curious about another person speaking
