In great britain, a when we returned to the gold standard after the napoleonic wars, the price of a loaf of bread in 18 16 was exactly the same as it was in 19 hundred. And i would argue that in a hundred years time, those silver, those er gold sovereigns will still buy you bed and breakfast in any one of the major cities in the world. Paper currency isn't real money. It's a promissory note from te bank backed by politicians. You couldn't think, could you of a more useless piece of paper than something issued by banks with the backing of a politician Totally useless.
