The Rise of Evangelicals in the United States
In 2008, 16% of self-identified evangelicals said they never or seldom attended church. In 2020, that number had swelled to 29%. One in five Catholics say they are born again, or evangelical. Seven percent of Jews say they're evangelical. Eighteen percent of Latter-day saints said they were evangelical in 2008. That's up to 69% by 2021.
