The record seems to anticipate many aspects of the rock genre in many details, especially when Charlie Christian starts his soloing. Other than the vibraphone in clarinet though, this small group was almost a prototypical rock band. Piano, electric guitar, double bass, and drums would be the hallmark instruments of the genre a full 20 years after this record.
