The Ethics of Authenticity

In some ways the ethics of authenticity is to free us from having to compete for one kind of moral framework. But at another level thrusts into the day to day living out a deep form of competition on who holds the most recognition through their uniqueness. And that does have the effect of creating this performative self. That seems to be really an ultimately dangerous and fundamentally theological issue of what is the self before God.
