Carnap chooses there to be one fundamental relation, which is the relation of similarity. And so we'll have these elementary experiences, but then we also need something formal or relational. So you can even retrieve this intersubjective, objective world, even if you start from this seemingly solipsistic position of an individual in their particular psychological states. The properties sort of fall out of the overall relationship of similarity between these holistic elementary experiences.
