Clarence Thomas is steeped in Malcolm X. He's called an uncle Tom and then criticized in all these ways. There's no justice who's written more about race than him since Thurgood Marshall, he says. Damon: Is there any possibility that people will look back on Thomas as 'consequential' to the issue of affirmative action?Damon: I was surprised a guy whose stuff I really don't like, Corey Robin, wrote a book on Thomas. And he ends up saying, well, you know, he's a really interesting legal thinker too.
