The Importance of Genetic Testing for MH Susceptibility
Most patients haven't had a muscle biopsy but most patients have had blood work or a cheek swap. Most would advocate to stop there just treat them as susceptible and then test their family members for that mutation. If it's a variant of unknown significance and the patient later goes on to have MH susceptibility based on a contracture test then you just found a new variant. The important thing for that is that we know whether they're susceptible but you can also contribute to the literature.
