I've Never Seen a Lesser Weaver in the Sea Again
I grew up in a place called Prestatin in North Wales, and because of the pier, this shing is quite popular among the residents. My dad and brother were proper anorax about it when I was a lad, but the idea of standing out in the horrible weather was just unbearable. In classic, beginners luck fashion, I'm the first to feel a tug on my line, so following their careful instruction, I managed to reel the thing in and get it out of the water. It's only when I noticed the rather freaky looking black spines on the things back, and as it turns out, they're not just sharp as needles, they're actually poisonous too.
