The Influence of the Social Democracy on Dutch Architecture
After the war, Holland needed a lot of houses but this was all done by housing associations. The idea is that you have people who don't have a lot of money and cannot build their own house. They form a corporation and as renters they decide upon the money to keep those buildings up and build new houses. That more or less ended in the 50s when the social democrats were in charge of directing the rebuilding of our country. And it turned into a complete mess where there is no spatial planning anymore. There's no idea of addressing housing shortage or the housing costs or the energy costs of the people that live in those houses. So I think if you end up with a mess because
