Is There a Bigger Non-Infectious Differential of Fever?
Mr. F is a 42-year-old landscaper with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, seasonal allergies, and opioid use disorder that is in remission. Presenting with intermittent fevers and occasional night sweats over the last week. While he used to take metformin and amylodopene, he has actually not currently taken any medication since he recently moved to the area. His temperature was 102.1 Fahrenheit, blood pressure 145 over 82, pulse 76, sats on room air 98% and his physical exam was unremarkable. He is now being admitted for further expedited workup.
