Eugene's relationship with her parents is so fraught, cause she's doing everything they want. And it really brings up the question of how much power do your parents have over you? I think most tenagers cross cultures that are in her position do what they do to gain freedom and respect from their parents. But i think if you follow it to that conclusion, that's where you went up.
