The US's Strategic Naivete to See What the Chinese Are Up To

The Chinese were never going to become democratic and liberal. The CCP, it's not in their DNA. Could the Americans not see that over all these years and decades? Again, I wonder why they did not because there was intel inputs that they continued to get all along. Even during these last 20 years, most American companies have complained about IPR losses. They've complained that they have been forced to let go of and ensure technology transfer - which they don't wish to if they want to enter into the Chinese market. So those capitalist interests have always worked and will continue to do so unless Americans figure out these fault lines in their democratic system.
