The myth of full autonomy is this idea that automated technologies will soon replace human labor altogether. And in the chapters then I sort of discuss why that's not happened. Machines have historically been good at it's kind of routinized work, which is very regular and predictable. But even our contemporary AI models are not as flexible as like a toddler who can transfer their knowledge to different kinds of problems. So we get this sort of half, this sort of gray space, this half half automation space that creates new pressures on the worker.
