The daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder was also born on the American frontier. She became friends with Isabel Patterson and Ein Rand after they met in the early 30s. Her novel Main Street is heavily influenced by Sinclair Lewis's observation style. And she had become frustrated with the failure to put together a group of intellectuals who would offer a scholarly case for individual freedom.
